Advocacy

Washington State PTA (WSPTA)

Our PTSA is a member of WSPTA, which is the oldest and the largest nonprofit grassroots children’s advocacy association in Washington state. Together we can strengthen our voice to improve the quality of our children’s health, welfare, safety, and education. WSPTA’s top 5 legislative priorities for 2019 include: Social Emotional Learning, School Construction and Simple Majority for Bonds, Prevent Gun Violence, Strategies to Address the Teacher Shortage, and Strategic K-12 Investments to Close Gaps. Click here for details.

School Capacity

The school board is currently addressing capacity issues at Robert Eagle Staff Middle School. Watch for updates on the Facebook page and in the newsletter, The Raven’s Call, for how you can contribute to the conversation and provide feedback on this issue.

School Funding

In February 2019, Seattle voters will be asked to renew two levies to fund Seattle Public Schools — an operations levy and a capital levy. For information about the Levies, visit the Seattle School District Levies Page. Watch for updates on the Facebook page and in the newsletter, The Raven’s Call, for how you can advocate for school funding to help our students, teachers and schools.
