World Cultures and Art Class at RESMS
World Cultures and Art Class at RESMS
New school year new classes! I am excited to be teaching a class about world cultures
and art. In this class we will be learning a bit about the geography of Latin America,
Indigenous Native Americans, East Africa and Asia. Then learning about traditional
crafts and contemporary artists that tie social justice with their region of origin. We will
be creating quite a bit of Art! Budgets are small and there is so much art to explore.
Looking for donations of the following:
- Yarn (not really fuzzy) any colors work
- Embroidery floss
- DVD player
- Toaster oven (will not be used for food)
- Old records (not your faves)
- Magazines
- Beads
- White sheets
- Any recycled materials ex: keys soda pop lids or metal rings, stickers, packing materials
You can send materials with your student and leave in the office for Linden. If you are an artist and would be interested in coming in as a guest, e mail me as well. If you have a collection of anything else you would like to donate, e‑mail me ddlinden@seattle

Updated Fall Sports Tryouts Dates This Week & Next
Updated Fall Sports Tryouts Dates This Week & Next
Girls soccer and coed ultimate frisbee will be starting up the week of Sept. 8. We’ll have Varsity, Junior Varsity and JVC girls soccer teams and four or five coed ultimate teams this year with the season running through mid-November. We encourage all interested students to try out regardless of experience or skill level. If your student identifies as non-binary and is interested in playing, we welcome them as well. Please check in with athletic coordinators Louis Eaglestaff or James Flynn as needed for support in choosing a team or season.
Before students participate in school athletics, parents and students must fill out and virtually sign their online FinalForms. Students must also submit a current pre-participation physical form (good for two years). Physicals can be scheduled before, during or after school at the Neighborcare health clinic at Eagle Staff. Once the physical form is completed, it will need to uploaded to your student’s FinalForms account.
Coed Ultimate
Tryouts for ultimate frisbee will be held after school on Tuesday, Sept. 9, Friday, Sept. 12 and Tuesday Sept. 16. Teams will practice Tuesdays and Fridays with games on Saturdays starting in late September.
Girls Soccer
Tryouts for girls soccer will be held after school on Thursday, Sept. 11, and Monday, Sept 15. Teams will practice Mondays and Thursdays with games on Saturdays starting in late September for varsity and early October for JV and JVC.
Calling all coaches
We are looking for additional coaches for both girls JVC soccer and our 6th grade ultimate teams. If you have interest in teaching soccer or ultimate fundamentals, motivating student athletes and helping maintain a positive and fun practice and game atmosphere please reach out to athletic coordinators Louis Eaglestaff and James Flynn.
