Seattle Special Education PTSA is hosting a free webinar

I’m reaching out to share a resource that could be really valuable for your school community—and to ask if you’d be willing to share this with families.

As a parent of a child with disabilities in Seattle Public Schools, I’ve seen both how hard school teams work to support students and how often staff & families are left without tools that truly address the root causes of behavior. That’s what drew me to Dr. Ross Greene’s work.

On May 12 (6–8pm), the Seattle Special Education PTSA is hosting a free webinar with Dr. Ross Greene on Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS), co-sponsored by Roots of Inclusion, All Youth Belong, The Arc of King County, and OSPI. He’ll be discussing his new book and how CPS can be applied in Seattle’s school context.

For PTAs, this is a chance to help families better understand the “why” behind student behavior and learn approaches that reduce conflict, improve communication with schools, and support more inclusive classrooms—benefiting all students.

As Seattle Public Schools enters a new chapter focused on safety, inclusion, and authentic family partnership, this is a moment to come together and explore solutions that actually work for kids.

I would deeply appreciate your adding the following blurb/graphic into your newsletter to advertise the event. If your PTA is interested, I’d be happy to connect to answer questions.

Thank you for helping get this out to your community,

Laura Rose Murphy
